NINA SOARS HIGH ONCE AGAIN WITH SOPHOMORE ALBUM, SMILE (TITIKPILIPINO.COM) - FEBRUARY 2, 2004

NINA SOARS HIGH ONCE AGAIN
WITH SOPHOMORE ALBUM, SMILE

The illlustrious Soul Siren has once again proven that she is worth the hype. With the launch of her sophomore album, Smile last January 30, 2004 at the lush Greenbelt 3 Park, Nina performed an overdose of soul-idified songs that got the groove of the Friday night hawks going.

Smile is Nina's second album after her proverbial leap of faith contract signing with Warner Music Philippines. After sending a demo tape, Nina immediately had the people at Warner listening, earning her a contract even before WMP executives actually saw her in person. This feat proves just how amazing her voice is, and now she continues to impress with Smile.

Prior to the release of Smile, some people thought that Nina would be a fad, someone who couldn't raise the bar and fade into obscurity. However, the Soul Siren remained true to her reputation proving the doubters wrong and came up with a collection of hits that has shown just how much Nina has grown.

Smile contains some of Nina's best work to date, but this time she adds a few enhancements that display her versatility and expanding vocal repertoire. The carrier single, Make You Mine, is the best example.

Currently a chart favorite in radio stations and local music video channels, Make You Mine pits Nina's sweet-singing voice with an urban jam and invigorating beat - a combination that has caught the ears of music fans who demand only the best from today's artists.

Nina is no stranger to revivals, but often the problem lies in capturing the appeal of the original while creating a unique identity of the artist. The Soul Siren pulls it off flawlessly and makes it look like a walk in the park with her renditions of classics such as
Madonna's Shoo-Bee-Doo and Baron Barbers' I'll Always Stay in Love This Way.

Taking one step further to artistic completeness, Nina makes her songwriting debut in Smile with the song Can't Say I Love You. Rounding up the power-packed ensemble are future hits A Girl Can Dream, Still Gonna Be and Sayang Naman, and other killer tracks from her 12-track album.

The Smile album launch was presented by Warner Music Philippines and sponsored by MTV Ink, Magic 89.9, Music One, Red Box Karaoke, and Greenbelt Ayala Center. Smile is available in CDs and cassettes from Warner Music Philippines
